How to use HTML ImageMapper 10 - AJAX

A wizard based interface guides you through the application.
You can also keep the default settings and press "create map" button right away.

The way from ArcGIS to your online GIS application

Step 0: Create your map in ArcGIS and load the HTML ImageMapper extension.
Do all the cartography in ArcGIS. HTML ImageMapper will use all the layer and project specific properties such as scale dependent layer visibility and sale dependent size of symbols and labels.
 

Step 1: Choose the map extent in the ArcMap data view or select a specific scale.
Start HTML ImageMapper and select the map size.

 


Step 2: Just use the smart default settings and create the map!

or make detailed settings yourself:

Step 2: Select "Full Screen" in order to create a map that spreads over the entire screen.

Step 3: Choose up to 5 zoom levels. Please be aware that processing time grows with each zoom level.
The default settings equal 100%, 200& ...
You can also set your individual zoom levels by entering the scale.

Step 4: Make your settings for the click actions for up to 5 layers, e.g. Display attributes, Link to database ...

Select "Searchable" to enable the online user to use the search function over all attribute data.

Select "Create list".
Objects can than be selected from this list in the browser.


Step 5: Add an infobar with the title of your project and your contact information in the comment field.
You can also add a logo, scale bar and coordinates.


Step 6: Create an overview map. Make sure to hide all layers that are not needed in the overview map and view the result by hitting the preview button.
Select "Create Legend" to export the legend from ArcMap.


Step 7: Select the output directory.


Step 8: Create the map!


Step 9: Browse the result!
