Integrated GPS

Camera with an integrated GPS receiver and digital compass

The RICOH 500SE is available with an integrated GPS receiver and a digital compass. The GPS coordinates of your position are automatically determined when you switch on the camera. The compass enables you to automatically capture the direction and the horizontal tilt angle in which the picture was taken.

The information about the position and the direction will be stored within the EXIF header of the picture.

The GPS receiver disposes of a MTK-chip, is WAAS/EGNOS enabled and gives you a local accuracy of 2-10m. With the WAAS or EGNOS correctional signal, the device is able to reach an accuracy of 1-5m.

Because of its architecture the camera is fit for construction sites or outdoor activity. Spray water, dust or falls from a height of up to 1m will not affect the camera.

By integrating the GPS device directly into the camera, the device covers the whole working process from position localization, over image acquisition to data transfer and placing information in the EXIF header of the picture. The complete workflow is executed by a single appliance with the push of a button.
The compact solution will also take weight off your bags. All you need is one device for all working stages hence only one recharger.
