Digital Compass The RICOH 500SE with integrated GPS and digital compass automatically determines the direction from which the picture has been taken. The digital compass is already calibrated when shipping the camera and is activated by turning the camera on. The photograph direction is visible on the display as a degree value (0-360°) as well as a token (e.g. SSW) The software GPS PhotoMapper for integrating your pictures into ArcGIS reads the EXIF header and automatically transfers the information to the map. The photograph direction is displayed by an arrow pointing in the according point of the compass. The horizontal tilt can also be captured with the digital compass. Integrated GPS The information about the position and the direction will be stored within the EXIF header of the picture. The GPS receiver disposes of a MTK-chip, is WAAS/EGNOS enabled and gives you a local accuracy of 2-10m. With the WAAS or EGNOS correctional signal, the device is able to reach an accuracy of 1-5m. Because of its architecture the camera is fit for construction sites or outdoor activity. Spray water, dust or falls from a height of up to 1m will not affect the camera. By integrating the GPS device directly into the camera, the device covers the whole working process from position localization, over image acquisition to data transfer and placing information in the EXIF header of the picture. The complete workflow is executed by a single appliance with the push of a button. |
