Memo Function
An outstanding feature of the Ricoh Caplio 500SE is its memo function. It allows you to save text information directly into the exif area of the picture taken.
Memos may be typed using the LCD screen’s keypad. More comfortably is the preparation of memo lists on your computer using the software ListEditor.
Up to ten memo categories may be defined for which the user may predefine variable numbers of selectable entries. For accommodation, for example, the user might then choose between “rented” or “condo/freehold”, add the number of rooms or the size of the accommodation.
The pregenerated list is being transferred to the camera with a touch of a button via a USB cable and stored onto the SD card.
Since only one memo list can be made available on the camera at a time, it makes sense to keep all lists ready on your computer as mta-files. If required, these lists may be activated using the ListEditor and transferred onto the camera. A task of no more than 2 minutes.
Before image exposure, the memo function is activated and the user may navigate through the list using the arrow keys to select the desired entries. Once the picture is taken, the selected memos are assigned to the photo and saved in the exif header.. A notepad, thus, becomes dispensable.
If desired, the memo entries may be visualized on the picture as a so-called imprint. This function finds it application in the construction of any type of cadastre, classification, acquisition of accident data, field-trips, on-site visits, etc.
Unlimited Networking Opportunities
Via WLAN (WiFi) and Bluetooth, the camera may send pictures to manifold devices. Transfer your data per One-Touch-Send to a BlackBerry, for instance. From there the communication possibilities are unlimited.
Whether per email or per WLAN to a server - your photos are networked!
