FAQ
How does the photograph obtain the barcode information?
The scanner detects up to three barcodes which are stored in the memo fields (see memo function). Each picture being shot after the scanning process automatically contains the barcode, stored in the file's exif header. When renaming a file, the ExifExtractor takes this information and renames the file, for instance, after the barcode.
May barcodes be entered manually?
Yes, you may detect barcodes manually. The Ricoh Caplio 500SE offers the option to enter information to the memo fields by hand. Thus, the user has the opportunity to directly enter barcodes of severely damaged tags..
How does the camera cope with bad lighting conditions?
The Caplio 500SE possesses a powerful flash which effortlessly detects objects in 10 metres distance. More options are offered, amongst others, through the selection of exposure modi or time.
